Lord Ganesha is worshipped first at the beginning of any ceremony or ritual that takes place in Hindu culture.

As, environment protection is a duty of every citizens, clay idols of Lord Ganesha are being made which are eco friendly. Before few years back, idols were made up of plaster of Paris and were worshipped. These idols disturbed the ecological balance and polluted water to high extent especially during the time of immersion (Ganesha Visarjan) in water. Going ahead with a vow to protect the environment, clay idols are being made which do not play havoc with environment. School children’s are in the process of carrying this further by making clay idols and gifting them away. Usually at the end of the tenth day, the murtis of lord Ganesha immersed in the bucket or big tub filled with water and gaved message to mankind to protect the environment by taking the oath, “We should always made eco-friendly Ganesha.”
