Overview

A Unit Of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Education Group ,Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Sarswati Balak Mandir, (Junior School), opened its doors in 1992, Cidco N- 4 ( South) ,Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Currently, it offers pre-primary education at three levels  – Nursery, Junior KG and Senior KG. Our pedagogy is a blend of informal & formal methods of learning and emphasis is laid on the Play Way Method and Activity Based Learning.   

At the school, the emphasis is on developing in students, self-confidence and the ability to effectively communicate in Marathi and also English. Our curriculum is an effective balance between a clearly defined structure that impacts all children, and a flexibility that allows for individualization for children, within the classroom.        

The Kindergarten Programme makes use of a range of individual and group activities which create a lively and positive learning environment. These activities are designed to focus on building concepts and strengthening competencies and skills. Children are provided opportunities to demonstrate curiosity and creativity to learn new concepts and build on existing ones. Singing, rhyming and reciting are some strategies employed in the Language Arts and the Phonics Programme. Activity areas or learning centres are set up in the classroom, with resources that actively engage children to learn about particular themes or topics. They provide opportunities to create, draw, manipulate, discover, explore, learn new skills, and to make mistakes.

Curriculum

Sarswati Balak Mandir (Junior School), offers a curriculum ( Semi English ) which is uniquely designed to be developmentally, culturally, linguistically and socially relevant to early learners. It inculcates in children the qualities of curiosity, exploration and discovery in a fun-filled, safe and happy learning environment. Our curriculum considers the need for all children to be exposed to all domains of development – physical and motor, language, cognitive, social and emotional – so no single domain takes precedence over any other.

Practicare – It is a work book designed in co-relation with the text book.

Marathi / English – A language text book and work book.

Deendayalian Mobile Application –  A Student diary for Daily HomeWork & communication between home and school.

Teacher’s Handbook – It is a handbook maintained by the teachers to monitor continuous progression of the students and record the anecdotes during the teaching-learning process.

Micro Planning Of Teaching Learning Process

Introduction – The art of teaching does not merely involve a simple transfer of knowledge from one to other. Instead, it is a complex process that facilitates and influences the process of learning. Quality of a teacher is estimated on how much the students understand from his / her teaching. The classrooms cannot be used as a learning platform for acquiring primary teaching skills.

Definition – Micro Planning is a teacher education technique which allows teachers to apply clearly defined teaching skills to carefully prepared lessons in a planned series of 5-10 minutes encounter with a small group of real students, often with an opportunity to observe the result on video-tape.

Efficiency – Micro Planning can be practiced with a very small lesson or a single concept and a less number of students. The modern-day multimedia equipment such as audio–video recording devices has a key role in the learning process. Micro Planning helps in eliminating errors and builds stronger teaching skills for the beginners and senior teachers. Planning increases the self-confidence, improves the in-class teaching performances, and develops the classroom management skills.

Micro-Element– Micro Planning reduces to complexities of the teaching situation in terms of students, duration of the lesson and subject matter to be taught so as to enable the trainee to concentrate on the training process. Training is also given in the mastery of only one skill at a time. One should master the components of the task of teaching before he attempts to perform effectively the complicated task of teaching at macro-level.
